MEP
Project Description:
The existing building structure has a laboratory, vivarium and office spaces. The existing MEP system was antiquated and had several code violations. Technical Advisors, Inc. (TA) surveyed this building thoroughly, since the existing drawings were incomplete and inaccurate. The greatest challenge was to phase this project, since several groups had to remain in operation during the construction period.
TA designed the various laboratories and offices. A complete new electrical service and distribution along with the change-out of the mechanical system was designed. The central plant provided the chilled water to this building. A state-of-the-art control system was designed to assure that the best possible energy savings were derived.
TA met with several user groups to assess their needs and to provide a coordinated effort for the success of the construction documents.
Project Size:
40,000 square feet
Dates:
Due to budget cuts, this project was canceled after construction documents were completed and the general contractor was selected.
The planning for this project was started in November 2011 and the final construction documents were completed in October 2012
